Ho Chi Minh City looks for consent for firecrackers shows to stamp New Year 2018
A high-rank show and a few low-rank performances are proposed to be held at the upcoming celebratory events.
Experts in Ho Chi Minh City are looking for consent from the local government to arrange a firecracker display to celebrate the up and coming New Year and Lunar New Year.
The metropolitan People's Committee has submitted a document to the prime minister to secure his endorsement for firework presentations for these exciting events, to be subsidized by each local administrative area.
As per the proposal, a dynamic fireworks display will take place in District 2 close to the Thu Thiem Tunnel on New Year's Eve.
Three smaller scale exhibitions will be given at the Dam Sen Park in District 11, Cu Chi Tunnels in the wider region, and Rung Sac Square in Can Gio District.
A similar arrangement has been proposed for the Lunar New Year's Eve, which will fall on the evening of February 15, alongside two additional small firecracker shows in the Nga Ba Giong Memorial in Hoc Mon District and an area in Nha Be District.
The exhibitions will begin at midnight and will last for 15 minutes.
The southern city frequently holds firecrackers presentations to mark vital occasions, including New Year's Eve, Lunar New Year's Eve, Reunification Day (April 30), and National Day (September 2).
However, there were no shows in 2017 in accordance with a request from the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, which asked for those assets to instead be utilized to assist the city’s underprivileged.
On December 24, the Secretariat issued a record expressing that the nation's districts are permitted to organize shows amid the Lunar New Year (Tet) occasion.
Expenditure for the shows must be proportionate with the states of every territory and must not be financed by the state spending plan, the Secretariat said.
Open specialists in Vietnam are given three days off consecutively, from December 30, 2017 to January 1, 2018 to appreciate the New Year occasion.
A range of celebratory events will take place across Ho Chi Minh City on the night of December 31 to welcome the dawn of 2018.
