Water Bus in Saigon: The one and only

In light of the opening of the Number 1 water bus (Bach Dang –Linh Dong) serving passenger on a daily basis, a grand ceremony was held on the morning of November 25th, 2017.


Hundreds of residents expressed interests by having themselves present on the day and experience the trip.
According to Mr. Cuong, the Head of the Department of Transportation, the new water bus service will sure make the daily life of commuters to work a lot easier. Not only this, but is said to help with the development of tourism in Saigon and decreasing instances and severity of traffic jams.
In future, there will be more water bus and taxi services, creating a more diverse transportation system in Saigon.
Along with the development of this water transportation service, the HCM City Department of Transportation is building a plan to connect bus routes to allow people to travel between the terminals of the river bus stations.
In the near future, the Department of Transportation has adjusted some bus routes on land to go through the Water Bus route No. 1. In addition, 4 electric transit bus routes will be put into operation immediately after having the Government’s approval.
According to Mr. Cuong, because this is the first model, there might be problems that need comments and ideas from people to be advanced appropriately.
Noted by reporters, many passengers on the ship were excited to test the first trip on this river bus.
Tran Van Them, a passenger living in District 1, said he had been waiting for this river bus for nearly 10 years.
"This route is very suitable for my family's daily travel. I will often use the river bus to avoid traffic jams. Also, the interior of the train is very comfortable and safe" - he added.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, from Hung Yen, explained that by sitting on the river bus, passengers can admire the beauty of the Saigon River from many different angles. Travelers coming to Ho Chi Minh City can choose the river bus as a means of transportation that meets quality and safety.
The first bus route (Bach Dang - Linh Dong) with the ticket price: 15,000 VND / ticket.
Five-berth cruise:
- Starting from Linh Dong (Thu Duc District) - Bach Dang (District 1): Linh Dong - Hiep Binh Chanh - Thanh Da - Binh An - Bach Dang.
- The reverse direction from Bach Dang to Hong Dong has the opposite route
